Dhuni yoga is an intimate community space. We offer programs that teach and support the FULL expression of well-being; body, mind, heart and spirit. Every class is alignment based and includes meditation and mindfulness and each student is expertly guided into postures safely. 

We offer clear, practical tools that radically shift and transmute day to day stresses.

Michelle Synnestvedt ( above) is the owner/director of Dhuni yoga and an E-RYT 500- (experienced registered yoga teacher) with over 20,000 hours of experience and training. She started her formal teacher training in the '90's in an alignment based Hatha yoga system, and opened her first yoga studio soon after. She went on to train hundreds of teachers in the Philadelphia area over the last two decades. 
 Michelle loves both the ongoing joy of nurturing long time students in weekly classes, and also enjoy teaching the deeper studies of Philosophy,  Intro to Sanskrit, Anatomy, Therapeutic Alignment, Sacred Myth, and  Principles and Devotional Chanting (Kirtan) to teachers in training in a myriad of studios. 

Amy Henderson 


Amy Henderson was Certified in Anusara Yoga in 2006. She started her practice of yoga more than 20 years ago and has had the honor of studying with some of the top nationally known hatha yoga teachers through the years.
In 2001, Amy focused her attention and heart in the teachings of Anusara. Since that time Amy has been committed to supporting students in a joyful and authentic way where she inspires students with singing, humor, and raw, accessible teachings from years of integrated practice on every level.

Marguerite Henderson

For Marguerite Henderson yoga is a life long path and passion of process, refinement and discovery. She has 20 years of teaching experience with multiple certifications and trainings, including Ashtanga and Anusara yoga as well as in-depth study in exercise physiology with certification from the American College of Sports Medicine. She brings to her teaching a deep knowledge of the physical structure and alignment of the body and how it weaves together with spirit and breath. Marguerite's inspiration for teaching yoga comes from guiding each student to reveal their best vibrant self in both their body and their heart.

Jeremy Pitcairn

Jeremy has been practicing meditation for over 20 years.  In addition to being a long-term Zen practitioner, he has also studied with Sally Kempton.  He studied yoga extensively with Michelle Synnestvedt, Amy Henderson and Beryl Herrin and has taken multiple Yoga Immersions and teacher trainings.  His focus is on softening to what is, and welcoming life and others on their own terms.  He is committed to a creating communion space where others can tap into the place we all hold in common while honoring our differences.  Jeremy is known for his warmth and soothing presence.

Advanced Yoga Studies

-The Bhagavad Gita in the oral tradition. Michelle tells the entire story of the great Indian epic "the Mahabharata" in which the Bhagavad Gita is the center.

-Introduction to Sanskrit. Welcome to the world on Sonic language, the powers that created the world. Learn the foundational sounds phonemes and how to string them together.

-The Ramayana, The great Indian tale of Sita, Rama and Hanuman.

-How to teach Meditation and mindfulness practices. Learn many techniques to help your students experience their center. 

-The yoga of Anatomy. The anatomy of asana. Where the bones and muscles  are at their peak strength and flexibility and why. Learn all the basic muscles and bones.

-Yoga Therapeutics, how to use poses to rehab injury.

-The Art of Mudras and Mantra for deepening your practice.
